The Serbian Ministry of Interior announced that six police officers were injured and 56 people were arrested during riots that took place in Valjevo, Belgrade, and other cities on Sunday night.
Interior Minister Ivica Dačić reported that 18 participants in the riots were arrested in Valjevo and other cities, noting that the number is not final.
In a statement issued by the Ministry on Sunday morning: “During yesterday’s unauthorized demonstrations, a total of six police officers were injured, and 56 people were arrested, including 16 suspected of committing criminal offenses… and 35 others for administrative violations.”
Among those arrested, 27 were in Belgrade and 29 in Valjevo.
