An explosion occurred at a plant producing oils and lubricants in the US state of Louisiana.
Local media reported: “Employees of the Mayor’s office are working on-site after the explosion,” and noted that residents in nearby areas were asked to evacuate as a precaution in case the fire spreads to adjacent tanks.
Social media videos show columns of black smoke rising following the explosion.
No injuries have been reported so far at the refinery, which is owned by the US lubricant manufacturer Smitty Supply.
