US President Donald Trump expressed his belief that he can arrange a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky at the negotiating table regarding a settlement in Ukraine.
Trump made the remarks to reporters, adding: “The next meeting will be between Zelensky and Putin, or between Zelensky and Putin with my presence if necessary, but I will organize a meeting between the two leaders.”
He added, “In the end, I will make sure they are in the same room, and I believe everything will be resolved.”
Earlier, Putin said at a press conference following his visit to China: “If Zelensky is ready, let him come to Moscow,” while the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry described the Russian president’s proposal as “unacceptable in advance.”
