In a controversial move in Brazil, a young businessman from the state of Rio Grande do Sul has reportedly left his massive fortune, estimated at around 6 billion Brazilian reais, to Brazilian football star Neymar da Silva.
According to local reports, the will was officially documented at a notary office last June, while the idea of transferring the wealth to Neymar dates back to 2023.
The 31-year-old businessman explained that Neymar’s career greatly inspired him, seeing it as reflecting a personal experience of facing challenges, even though he has no direct relationship with the player.
He said, “I love Neymar and feel that his story resembles mine. I admired his relationship with his father; it reminds me of my relationship with my late father.”
So far, Neymar has not commented, and his media team told the program Melhor da Tarde that they have not received any official notification regarding the will.
