The Israeli army carried out heavy shelling on high rise-building in western Gaza City, just hours after issuing warnings of a possible strike on the building.

Footage circulated on social media shows the moment the residential tower was hit, as well as the extent of the destruction that reduced it to rubble.

Following the strike, the Israeli army announced: “We have targeted a multi-story building in Gaza City that was being used by Hamas.”
