Watch: Trump Mocks the UN from Its Own Stage
US President Donald Trump announced that “America’s valuable relationship with the Gulf states is stronger now than ever,” adding, “I ended seven wars without any help from the United Nations.”

During the opening of the 80th United Nations General Assembly, Trump criticized the UN, saying that “its empty speeches do not end wars,” and added, “I should receive the Nobel Peace Prize for my achievements, but my priority now is saving lives.” He noted that “the UN has tremendous capabilities, yet it is far from utilizing them,” and continued, “I am in full fitness, unlike the UN,” describing the organization as “an elevator that stops halfway.”

Trump also addressed international security issues, stating, “I extended an offer of cooperation to Supreme Leader of Iran Ali Khamenei, but he responded with threats. Iran must not and cannot possess nuclear weapons.” He added that “Hamas rejects reasonable offers to end the war in Gaza, and recognizing a Palestinian state would reward the movement. The war must end now, and all hostages must be released.”

The US President called for an end to the war in Ukraine, which “has tarnished Russia’s image,” adding, “I once believed the Russia-Ukraine war would be the easiest to resolve.” He criticized NATO countries, noting that “they have not completely severed ties with Russia, thereby contributing to the continuation of the war. We will impose additional sanctions on Russia if Europe stops buying Russian oil.”

Trump also addressed migration and security issues in Europe, saying, “Illegal immigrants are flooding into Europe, and no one is stopping them. The Mayor of London is terrible, the city has changed, and next thing you know, Sharia law will be in place.”

He also highlighted domestic achievements, stating, “America was heading in the wrong direction, but the situation changed with my return to the presidency. We now have the strongest economy, the strongest military, and the strongest borders.” He continued, “My term is the golden age of America; the previous administration left us with economic disasters, and since taking office, we have achieved investments worth $17 trillion.”

On US security at home, Trump said, “Washington used to be the capital of crime, and it is now a safe city after the National Guard was deployed.” He also called on the UK to “improve its performance in North Sea oil extraction,” adding that he had discussed this directly with Starmer.
