Ukraine says an overnight Russian attack on Kyiv has killed two people and injured six.

“In Kyiv, as a result of the night attack, two people died, six were wounded, 18 people were rescued, including three children,” the State Emergency Service of Ukraine posted on Telegram.

Vitali Klitschko, the city’s mayor, said a residential building in the central Pechersk district was hit, while another in the district of Dniprovskyi was severely damaged.

Video footage on Telegram showed a large fire spreading through a nine-storey building in Dniprovskyi.

At least four people were injured, said Tymur Tkachenko, the head of the Kyiv city administration.

Without giving specific details, the Ukrainian Energy Ministry confirmed that energy infrastructure was also struck.
