Amid the rubble of two years of war that have reshaped Gaza, more than a hundred men and women defied destruction and loss to hold a mass wedding in Khan Younis, calling it the “Dress of Joy.” The rare celebration brought a measure of hope to the residents of the besieged and devastated Strip, who have lost tens of thousands of loved ones.

The couples walked near the ruins on a red carpet, passing under arches decorated with white flowers. The brides wore white dresses adorned with colorful traditional Palestinian embroidery and carried bouquets, while the grooms appeared in black suits and ties, according to foreign news agencies.
