Watch: Heavy Flooding Hits Morocco
Moroccan authorities announced that the death toll from torrential rains and flooding in the coastal province of Safi, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, has risen to 21, with more than 32 others injured, following severe thunderstorms.

In a statement, authorities said the heavy rainfall, which lasted for about one hour, flooded around 70 homes and shops, swept away 10 vehicles, and cut off many roads in the city of Safi and its surrounding areas, while rescue efforts continue to assist those affected.

According to local media, authorities have suspended classes in the city of Safi and nearby areas due to the severe weather conditions.

In response to this exceptional situation, authorities and all relevant sectors have begun implementing emergency measures, with a full mobilization of logistical resources and personnel to ensure rapid intervention and support for those affected.

These efforts include searching for potential missing persons and restoring road connections and essential service networks across the province.
