Reuters reported that missiles and drones coming from Iran fell within the perimeter of Nakhchivan International Airport.
The airport is located about ten kilometres from the border with Iran.
Azerbaijan accused Iran of launching two drones into its territory, which resulted in the injury of two people, and said it had summoned the Iranian ambassador to deliver a strong protest.
The Azerbaijani foreign ministry said one of the drones fell near an airport in Nakhchivan, close to the Iranian border, while the other fell near a school.
The ministry condemned the attacks in a statement, demanding an explanation from Iran, and said that Azerbaijan reserves the right to take “appropriate retaliatory measures”.
