The Russian Foreign Ministry announced on Monday that Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov received a phone call from his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, following US President Donald Trump's remarks about talks with Tehran amid the ongoing conflict, which has now lasted more than three weeks, according to AFP.

The ministry stated that Lavrov called for "an immediate cessation of hostilities and a political settlement that takes into account the legitimate interests of all parties involved, primarily Iran," adding that "Araghchi initiated the call to his Russian counterpart."
