The United States has confirmed the death of a senior Iranian military figure following an Israeli air strike.

US Central Command said in a post on X that Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) navy, was killed.

The confirmation marks the first official acknowledgment from Washington of Tangsiri’s death after Israeli media earlier reported the deadly strike.

Iran has so far not officially confirmed his death.
