Tehran Threatens Action if Situation Spirals Out of Control
Iran threatened to close the Bab al-Mandab Strait through its regional proxies if the situation gets out of control, according to Reuters, citing a senior Iranian source. The source reportedly said: "If the situation gets out of control, Iran’s allies will also close Bab al-Mandab."

Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, the source stated: "What the United States wants is to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, and Iran will not do so in exchange for empty promises."

On the negotiations between Washington and Tehran, the source indicated: "There are no negotiations with America, which wants Iran to yield to pressure." He added: "We will show flexibility when we see flexibility from the U.S. side," adding, "Tehran will not show flexibility as long as America demands surrender."

He also clarified that "Pakistan continues to relay messages, but the U.S. has not changed its tone."
