Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a telegram to his American counterpart Donald Trump congratulating him on the 250th anniversary of the United States’ independence.
Putin said in the message: “I extend my sincere congratulations on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States of America,” stressing that “constructive relations between Moscow and Washington serve the interests of both peoples and of the international community as a whole.”
He emphasized that Russia and the United States, as the world’s two leading nuclear powers, bear a special responsibility today for ensuring global security and stability.
