Interior and Municipalities Minister Ahmad Hajjar confirmed that the electoral process began today in all polling stations, noting that a few faced minor issues that were immediately addressed.
In a statement from the Ministry, Hajhar said, "The process is smooth, and there is good voter turnout among citizens."
The Minister also revealed that a bribe was seized by the security forces, stating, "One person has made a clear confession, and the incident is currently under investigation. I repeat my call to not be lenient with violations."
He continued: "We, along with President Aoun, have overseen the process, and there have been no security incidents so far. We hope today will be a day for practicing democracy."
Hajjar added, "I hope we can present a shining democratic image of Lebanon today in the North and Akkar governorates, just as we did last week in Mount Lebanon."
