A number of workers in Tripoli held a sit-in to express their anger and demand an increase in the minimum wage.
The protest took place in front of the Tripoli Serail, where workers blocked the road in response to a call by the Federation of Labor Unions and Employees in the North, along with various labor unions in Tripoli, under the slogan: “An act of need and necessity, because ears are deaf and postponement, stagnation, and procrastination dominate the current phase.”
The protest began with a march that started in front of Tripoli’s municipal palace, passing through Azmi Street, the banks’ street, and Al-Nour Square, before reaching the entrance of the Serail, where Internal Security Forces had deployed precautionary measures.
