Prime Minister Nawaf Salam held a series of high-level meetings at the Grand Serail, starting with UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert.
The pair discussed recent political developments and the situation in southern Lebanon in light of ongoing Israeli aggression.
Later, PM Salam received a Belarusian delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich and Deputy Speaker of Parliament Vadim Ipatov, in the presence of Ambassador Yuri Sluka and Honorary Consul Elie Sarkis.
Karankevich conveyed his government’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties, highlighting cooperation in agriculture, food industries, education, medicine, and emergency support. He also announced the donation of ambulances to Lebanon’s Health Ministry and the intent to boost educational exchange.
Salam also met with acting deputy executive director of Human Rights Watch Lama Fakih and MENA researcher Ramzi Kaiss, who urged justice for war crimes, judicial independence, and accountability in the Beirut port blast case.
Further meetings focused on airport development, including discussions with representatives of Emirati airport operators and Lebanese firms regarding Qlayaat Airport and security systems at Beirut Airport.
PM Salam concluded his day with a meeting with Constitutional Council President Judge Tanous Mechleb.
