      Watch: Warehouse fire
Media outlets reported a fire broke out in a warehouse near Bandar Rajai Port close to the major coastal city of Bandar Abbas on the Strait of Hormuz.

The Director General of Crisis Management in Hormozgan Province said: “A large-scale fire broke out in a waste warehouse near Rajai Port, causing thick smoke to rise.”

Later, authorities announced they had brought the fire under control.

Earlier today, a fire at a petrochemical complex in southern Iran killed at least three people and injured several others, according to official Iranian television, which did not specify the cause.

The TV mentioned the death toll could rise “given the scale of the incident,” while broadcasting live footage of thick black smoke rising from the Kaveh Petrochemical Plant in the coastal city of Deyr, located 1,200 kilometers from Tehran.
