Deputy Parliament Speaker Elias Bou Saab met with British Ambassador Hamish Cowell with whom he discussed reform laws passed or under review in Parliament.

Cowell said Lebanon has a real chance to restore international trust, and that reforms would support this effort.

Bou Saab noted Speaker Nabih Berri has called for an extraordinary session to expedite key legislation, stressing the need for the government to submit the financial gap law so Parliament can pass it alongside the banking restructuring law. He also requested UK support, alongside France and the US, to pressure Israel to respect the ceasefire. Bou Saab also met Information Ministry staff.
