President Aoun welcomed at Baabda Palace, Head of the Iraqi Mission to Lebanon, Mr. Mohammad Redha Al-Husseini, who conveyed Iraq’s keenness to strengthen and develop Lebanese-Iraqi relations across various sectors.
The envoy emphasized that this commitment reflects the outcomes of President Aoun’s recent visit to Baghdad and his meetings with Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid and Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani.
Moreover, President Aoun received Algerian Ambassador to Lebanon, Kamel Bouchama, with whom he discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to develop them in all fields.
The discussion also touched on the ongoing preparations for the official visit that President Aoun intends to make to Algeria this month, at the invitation of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
President Aoun affirmed the strength of the Lebanese-Algerian relations and his commitment to developing them, appreciating Algeria's support for Lebanon in regional and international forums, particularly within the UN Security Council.
Politically, President Aoun received a delegation from the Social Democrat Hunchak Party, headed by the Party's Executive Committee Chairman, Mr. Vanig Dakessian, with whom he discussed the current political situation.
On emerging, Dakessian said, "The delegation congratulated President Aoun on his election as President of the Republic at this critical juncture in Lebanon's history."
He added, "We stressed to His Excellency our full support for his efforts to rescue Lebanon and the importance of working on a comprehensive plan that restores confidence in the state and addresses the economic and social crises. We also stressed the need to preserve Lebanon's sovereignty, support the army and security forces, and strengthen national unity to confront challenges."
