Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri welcomed at the second presidency headquarters in Ain El-Tineh, Jean-Christophe Carret, the World Bank Country Director for the Middle East Department.
The World Bank's programs and plans for reconstruction and rehabilitation of infrastructure in Lebanon were discussed.
Speaker Berri also received the newly appointed commander of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, General Diodato Abagnara, who came on a protocol visit upon a protocol visit upon assuming his new duties.
The visit was an occasion to discuss the field situation in the UNIFIL's area of operation south of the Litani River.
Berri later met with Belgian Ambassador to Lebanon Arnout Pauwels with whom he discussed the latest developments in Lebanon and the region, in addition to the bilateral relations between the two countries.
Speaker Berri also followed up with Health Minister Rakan Nasreddine on political developments and matters related to the healthcare and hospital sectors.
On the other hand, Speaker Berri signed ten laws that were approved during the two-day legislative session held on June 30 and July 1, 2025. The signed laws have now been formally referred to the Cabinet for implementation.
