A clash broke out between members of a UNIFIL patrol and residents of the southern town of Aaitit, during which tear gas was used.

According to details, the UNIFIL patrol was passing through the town of Aaitit, near Wadi Jilou, without being accompanied by the Lebanese Army. Local residents stopped the patrol and demanded that it return with army escort. When the UNIFIL personnel refused, a confrontation ensued, and they threw tear gas canisters at the civilians to disperse them.
