The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement this afternoon, denouncing "the repeated Israeli attacks on Lebanon, which targeted a number of southern cities and towns yesterday, resulting in several martyrs and wounded, including children."
The statement also implied that "these attacks, once again, targeted international peacekeeping forces operating in Lebanon, in a clear and direct violation of international law, Security Council Resolution 1701, and the November cessation of hostilities declaration, and in open defiance of international will."
The Foreign Ministry called on "the international community to pressure Israel to halt its ongoing attacks and respect Lebanon's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the safety of its people."
Meanwhile, the Ministry affirmed its keen concern for the safety of the UNIFIL peacekeeping forces and their role in maintaining stability in southern Lebanon.
