The European Union condemned the strike carried out by the Israeli army that killed several civilians, including children, on Sunday in Bint Jbeil in southern Lebanon.
In a statement, it added: "This incident comes in the wake of intensified Israeli Defense Forces attacks and warnings," reiterating "its call for full respect and implementation of the ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel. Security concerns must be addressed through the full use of the monitoring mechanism established under the ceasefire agreement."
The statement concluded: "Everyone should support the crucial efforts being made by the Lebanese government to ensure that arms remain solely in the hands of the state."
