On Tuesday, a Lebanese Army intelligence unit raided a marijuana cultivation field in Yanouh, in the Jbeil District, arresting one suspect (S.F.) and destroying the crops by burning them on site.

This marks the second operation of its kind in the area in recent months, following a similar raid in Majdel Al-Aaqoura.

Marijuana cultivation is reported to be highly lucrative, with each plant yielding around $500, allowing even a small field to generate profits of up to $200,000.
