MP Michel Mouawad said that the lighting of the Raouche Rock yesterday “was not a tribute to the fallen martyrs, but a May 7 political statement against the state, its institutions, and the people of Beirut and their dignity, and this clearly shows that Hezbollah’s weapons are not directed at Israel.”

Mouawad told MTV: “The issue today is with an armed party directing its weapons inward, and the state needs to take stronger action.”

He also pointed out that “Wafiq Safa is trying to bypass the state,” underscoring that “our commitment is to civil peace, which can only be safeguarded through the full implementation of the law and the Constitution.”
