Lebanese Forces Party leader Samir Geagea stated that “Hezbollah must take a lesson from the experience of the Palestinian Hamas movement in Gaza and hand over its weapons to the Lebanese state as soon as possible.”
He added: “It is certain that Hezbollah should learn from what is happening with Hamas. This is yet another reason for them to surrender their weapons to the state as soon as possible. Wasting time is unacceptable.”
Geagea also said that “Hezbollah officials are currently engaging in posturing, completely refusing to hand over their weapons to the state, which, in August, set a plan to disarm the party before the end of the year.”
He continued: “I don’t really understand what they are doing, and frankly, I did not understand the support war. I did not understand the events of October 7 either, on what basis they took these steps, or where it led them.”
Geagea emphasized: “Hezbollah has no option but to hand over its weapons to the Lebanese state, because there is a state, and it has taken the decision.”
