Social Affairs Minister Hanine El-Sayyed oversaw the safe and organized return of Syrian refugees from Lebanon, in coordination with the General Security Directorate, the UNHCR, and the IOM.
Speaking from Zahle, she said the return operation is part of the government’s official plan launched on July 1, noting that over 320,000 Syrians have already returned, with another 110,000 registered to do so by year’s end.
The Minister highlighted ongoing legal labor regulation efforts and financial incentives for returnees, $100 per person in Lebanon and $400 per family in Syria, stressing that the initiative is a national, humanitarian path to preserve dignity and sovereignty.
