Minister of Interior Ahmad Hajjar affirmed that Lebanon faces a fundamental challenge today: asserting full state authority over all its territory, in line with the constitution and in respect of Lebanon’s sovereignty and national unity.
“In this context,” Hajjar said, “the Lebanese Army, alongside all security agencies, is enforcing complete field control over every inch of Lebanese land. Liberating our occupied territory in the south and halting Israel’s repeated aggressions remain non-negotiable national priorities.”
Speaking on behalf of President Joseph Aoun at the Road Safety in Lebanon Conference, titled “Toward a Comprehensive National Strategy through Multi-Sector Partnership,” Hajjar stressed that despite the country’s difficult circumstances and limited resources, road safety and the protection of Lebanese citizens remain paramount.
Moreover, the Minister called on the public to be “active partners of the state,” urging self-accountability and responsible behavior on the roads, “especially at a time when reform is most needed.”
Hajjar concluded by expressing confidence that Lebanon can move toward openness, prosperity, and stability through collective commitment and cooperation.
