Hajjar meets French Interior Minister in Paris
Interior Minister Ahmad Hajjar held a meeting today with his French counterpart Laurent Nuñez, at the French Interior Ministry headquarters in Paris, in the presence of Lebanese Ambassador Rabih Shaer.

Hajjar thanked France for its unwavering support to Lebanon and its people, praising "the pivotal role it is currently playing as a key partner in the 'Mechanism' committee, aimed at stabilizing southern Lebanon."

He also expressed support for efforts to achieve a complete Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory and to halt ongoing Israeli attacks.

Discussions during the meeting focused on ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, particularly in the areas of security, counterterrorism, combating organized crime and drug trafficking, as well as cooperation in border control and addressing illegal immigration.

The two ministers affirmed the deep historical ties between Lebanon and France, and the importance of strengthening the existing strategic partnership and activating mechanisms for joint cooperation.

Talks also touched on continuing to support Lebanese security institutions, particularly the Internal Security Forces.

Minister Hajjar emphasized "the importance of this support in enhancing the capabilities of the security forces and addressing current challenges in maintaining security and stability."

He also discussed with his French counterpart the situation of the Lebanese community residing in France, praising "the positive role it plays in French society," and expressing his hope to "pursue cooperation to facilitate the affairs of Lebanese residents in France, especially students."
