Maronite Patriarch Mar Bechara Boutros Rahi stressed the urgent need for a transformation in Lebanon’s political culture, calling for "mercy on the political level."

Rahi, whose remarks came during Sunday Mass service in Bkerke said that, "Lebanon needs mercy at the level of politics so that power may become service, governance may turn into responsibility, and decision-making into a matter of conscience."

The Patriarch also urged the Lebanese to move beyond the logic of division and return to a spirit of mercy, one that builds, reconciles, and restores their homeland’s true mission.
