Lebanese Army Commander General Rodolph Haykal paid an official visit to France on December 17–18, 2025, where he met with his French counterpart, Chief of the French Armed Forces General Fabien Mandon. General Haykal, in turn, expressed his appreciation to General Mandon and the French authorities for their ongoing initiatives to support Lebanon and its armed forces amid the current exceptional circumstances. He also highlighted the extensive efforts undertaken by the Lebanese Army to maintain national security and stability, noting that the first phase of its plan south of the Litani River is being implemented according to schedule.
