MTV has revealed the proposal from the Lebanese Forces ministers that failed to gain Government consensus, which stated:
The Cabinet highly appreciates the efforts of the Lebanese Army over the past months, particularly regarding the collection of illegal weapons south of the Litani River, the extension of the Lebanese state’s authority, and the strengthening of its presence in the region.
Based on regional and international developments, and in line with the Council of Ministers’ decision issued on September 5, 2025, which is grounded in the plan developed by the Lebanese Army Command, the Council reaffirms its full support for the military and requests that the Army complete the remaining stages of the plan within a timeframe ending on March 31, 2026, in order to consolidate state authority and preserve sovereignty, security, and stability.”
