The Forecasting Department at the Meteorological Service of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation has predicted that a high-pressure area will dominate Lebanon and the eastern Mediterranean basin, leading to stable weather with cold conditions, especially at night in mountainous and inland areas. This will continue until Friday afternoon, when the weather becomes unstable. The region is expected to be gradually affected starting Saturday morning by a low-pressure system originating from the Black Sea, bringing rain and snow. Its effects will persist until Monday, gradually weakening.
Warnings have been issued for slippery conditions on mountain roads above 1,200 meters due to ice formation on Thursday night and the early hours of Friday morning.
Expected Weather in Lebanon:
Thursday: Partly cloudy, turning during the day to mostly clear skies with rising temperatures, especially in the mountains and inland areas, though still below seasonal averages. Humidity will decrease.
Friday: Mostly clear in the morning with further temperature increases, gradually becoming cloudy by the afternoon with fog forming over the highlands. Light scattered rain is expected, especially in the north starting in the evening, along with some snowfall above 1,700 meters.
Saturday: Partly to mostly cloudy with a slight drop in temperatures and increased humidity. Dense fog will form over the highlands, and scattered rain showers are expected, occasionally heavy in the afternoon, accompanied by lightning, thunder, and active winds. Snowfall will occur above 1,600 meters during the day and may reach 1,400 meters at night.
Sunday: Mostly cloudy with decreasing temperatures and dense fog over the highlands. Scattered rain showers are expected, occasionally heavy, accompanied by thunderstorms, active winds, and hail. Snowfall will occur above 1,400 meters during the day and may reach 1,300 meters at night.
Surface Winds: Northwest to north during the day, southeast at night, with speeds between 10 and 30 km/h
Visibility: Generally good
Relative Humidity on the Coast: Between 40% and 65%
Sea Conditions: Moderate wave height
Sea Surface Temperature: 19°C
Air Pressure: 1028 hPa (equivalent to 771 mmHg)
Sunrise: 06:43
Sunset: 16:51
