Information Minister Paul Morcos participated as a keynote speaker at the "Media and Diplomacy – A Strategic Tool to Support Investment" forum, held in the Jordanian capital, Amman, on January 19 and 20, 2026.
The Forum is held under the patronage of Jordan’s Ministry of Government Communication and Lebanon’s Ministry of Information, and organized by the Leadership Center, within the framework of strengthening media and diplomatic cooperation between Arab and foreign countries.
In his keynote address at the forum, Minister Morcos stressed "the pivotal role played by the media in supporting development and investment issues and fostering communication among peoples," affirming that "the role of the media is no longer limited to technological advancement alone, but has extended to become an effective factor in shaping political, economic, and diplomatic decision-making."
Morcos also pointed out that "contemporary media faces major challenges amid digital transformations, which calls for strengthening the professionalism of media institutions and developing their tools to ensure the portrayal of the true picture of national and Arab issues."
Morcos also stressed "the importance of the complementary relationships and media partnerships among Arab media institutions and frameworks," noting that "joint media forums represent important platforms for exchanging expertise and experiences, such as Lebanon's previous hosting of the Arab Media Forum in Beirut, which contributes to enhancing joint media action in the region."
On the sidelines of the Forum, Minister Morcos met with his Jordanian counterpart, Mohammad Al-Momani, where they reviewed ways to develop media partnerships between Lebanon and Jordan, discussed mechanisms to enhance cooperation between media institutions in the two countries, and explored preparations for joint initiatives that serve the media and its strategic role in supporting investment and intercultural dialogue.
Minister Morcos’s participation in this forum comes within the Lebanese efforts to enhance Lebanon’s presence in regional and international forums and to reaffirm the role of Lebanese media as a pillar in supporting national causes across various fields.
At the conclusion of the event, Jordanian partners presented Minister Morcos with a commemorative shield in recognition of the occasion.
