A fatal traffic accident occurred on the eastbound lane in the El Heri–Chekka area, involving a car and a pickup truck.
According to preliminary information, the pickup truck collided with the car, causing it to lose control and crash. The impact led to the death of the car’s driver, identified as B.B.J., a 1961-born resident of the town of Bqaa Kafra, who died at the scene from his injuries.
Lebanese Red Cross teams responded to the incident and transported the victim to Batroun Hospital.
Security forces immediately opened an investigation and were able to track down and arrest the pickup truck driver, who was taken into custody for questioning as legal procedures continue.
