Salameh discusses draft law on cultural heritage protection with MP Baydoun
Minister of Culture Ghassan Salaeh met with MP Ashraf Baydoun at his office in the National Library in Sanayeh.

Accompanied by Buthaina Baydoun and Ali Zaarour, and in the presence of the Director General of Antiquities, Engineer Sarkis Khoury, and the Directorate's Chief of Staff, Jumana Nakhleh, the meeting focused on the draft law concerning the prosecution of cultural heritage offenses. As MP Baydoun stated after the meeting, he said: "We had the honor of meeting with His Excellency the Minister of Culture and his team to discuss a draft law currently being prepared concerning the protection of cultural heritage, following Lebanon's accession to the Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property." "

Baydoun added: "Indeed, the valuable observations of His Excellency Minister Salameh and his team have enriched the proposal, which we hope will soon be implemented, establishing a cultural prosecutor’s office and a cultural judicial police force to protect registered and unregistered cultural property in Lebanon and abroad."
