The General Directorate of General Security issued a statement urging citizens to remain vigilant amid widespread attempts to hack and steal WhatsApp accounts.

The Directorate cautioned the public against clicking on suspicious links or responding to requests for money transfers, particularly those appearing to come from close contacts, without first verifying the identity of the message sender and its source.

General Security stressed that these measures are essential to avoid falling victim to electronic fraud and cyber scams.
