Prime Minister Nawaf Salam met at the Grand Serail with a delegation from the Committee of Families of Lebanese detainees held in Israeli prisons, in the presence of MP Hussein Hajj Hassan. The delegation presented a memorandum outlining their vision for pursuing the detainees’ case, noting that at least 20 Lebanese are currently held by Israel, including civilians abducted after the ceasefire of November 27, 2024, some of whom are wounded or ill, with no access granted to the International Committee of the Red Cross.
Hajj Hassan said the meeting was positive, stressing that Salam committed to making the detainees’ file a national priority and to personally following it through diplomatic, legal, and international channels. Representatives of detainees’ families welcomed the reassurances and called for intensified efforts with the Red Cross and international bodies.
Salam also received delegations of public school teachers and a civic association, discussing salary adjustments, youth engagement, and national priorities.
