Labor Minister Mohammad Haidar took part in the Sixth Global Conference on the Elimination of Child Labor held in Marrakech, where he outlined Lebanon’s efforts to address the issue amid ongoing economic challenges.
In his remarks, Haidar said the government, in cooperation with international organizations, has adopted legislative reforms and social support programs for vulnerable families, contributing to a reduction of child labor by more than 25% in most major regions.
Haidar stressed the importance of inter-ministerial coordination and sustainable solutions to safeguard children’s rights to education and protection, reaffirming Lebanon’s commitment to continued international cooperation to eliminate child labor.
