Education and Higher Education Minister Rima Karami conducted an inspection tour of several public schools and secondary institutions in Tripoli and its surrounding areas to assess building conditions and ensure the safety of students and staff.
Her visit began at Tripoli Al-Haddadin Official Girls’ Secondary School, where she reviewed reported cracks in the building. Karami confirmed that an engineering survey found the main structure to be sound, with certain sections requiring immediate repairs, which have already begun. She outlined parallel short- and long-term plans to ensure safety and comprehensive rehabilitation.
The minister also checked on students relocated from Al-Farabi Public School and Dhahr Al-Maghr Public Kindergarten to safer facilities following structural concerns. She stressed that all decisions prioritize safety above all.
Karami concluded her tour with a meeting at the North Education Region office, issuing directives to intensify monitoring of school buildings and strengthen coordination with municipalities and engineering authorities to safeguard students and maintain academic stability.
