The Israeli military has begun striking Hezbollah targets across Lebanon, according to Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee.
Writing on X, Adraee said that the Israeli military is currently striking Hezbollah targets across Lebanon in force in response to rocket launches targeting Israel, adding that Hezbollah, which he said operates under the patronage of Iran, had “opened fire” on Israel and its citizens.
He added that the Israeli military would act against Hezbollah’s decision to join the confrontation and would not allow the group to pose a threat to Israel or harm residents in the north.
Adraee also said that Hezbollah was destroying Lebanon, placing responsibility for the escalation on the group, and that the Israeli military would respond forcefully to the attack.
He said the Israeli forces had prepared for this scenario under an operational plan as part of the “Roar of the Lion” campaign and were ready for a multi-front scenario and to confront any threat against Israel.
