President Joseph Aoun stated that the launch of rockets from Lebanese territory at dawn today strikes at the very core of the efforts undertaken by the Lebanese state to keep Lebanon distant from the cycle of military confrontations gripping the region, confrontations whose repercussions on Lebanon have long been warned against. He reiterated the call for wisdom and responsibility in dealing with such developments, placing the higher national interest above all other considerations.

He further said: “While we condemn the Israeli attacks on Lebanese territory, we caution against the continued use of Lebanon once again as a platform for conflicts that do not concern us. Such practices would expose our country to renewed risks, the responsibility for which will rest with those who have ignored repeated calls to safeguard the nation’s security and stability. The state will not permit a return to this path, and it will not be accepted by the Lebanese people, who remain committed to healing the wounds left by past confrontations.”
