The head of the Bakers’ Syndicate in Lebanon Antoine Seif reassured Lebanese citizens in a statement that “the bakeries are operating at high efficiency and have significant production capacity, enabling them to meet any urgent or unexpected demands.”

Seif noted that “there is pressure on bakeries due to citizens’ fear and anxiety,” while emphasizing that “bakeries are keeping up with this increase in demand and have sufficient production capacity to supply more if needed.”

He stressed that “there is no need to worry about any shortage of bread production, especially given that there is a wheat stockpile sufficient for two months.”

Seif also revealed that a new ship is currently unloading its cargo at Tripoli Port, in addition to other shipments that will arrive in Lebanon in the coming period, which will strengthen market stability and ensure continuity of production.
