Quintet Ambassadors Meet Aoun as Lebanon Pushes Forward with Enforcement Plan
Amid Hezbollah breaking the government’s decision to ban its activities and force it to surrender its weapons by launching new rockets toward Israel, ambassadors of the Quintet Committee visited the Presidential Palace on Tuesday morning to meet with President Joseph Aoun at his request.

Aoun was firm with the ambassadors, stressing that the government’s decision to ban Hezbollah’s activities and require the surrender of its weapons is a sovereign and irreversible decision.

The ambassadors then asked how this decision would be implemented, to which Aoun replied that the Council of Ministers had tasked the military and security forces with enforcing the decision across all Lebanese territories, and that the army had received political cover to begin implementation.
