The Israeli army announced the “start of a limited ground operation in southern Lebanon.”
Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee said: “In recent days, the 91st Division has begun a limited ground operation targeting key sites in southern Lebanon with the aim of expanding the forward defense zone. This operation is part of efforts to consolidate the forward defense area and involves destroying infrastructure and neutralizing Hezbollah operatives in the region, in order to eliminate threats and create an additional security layer for northern residents.”
He added: “Prior to the ground deployment, the Israeli army struck multiple targets in the area with artillery and airpower to remove threats. The division’s forces continue their offensive operations while also defending Galilee towns, alongside the 146th Division.”
He concluded: “The Israeli army will continue to act forcefully against Hezbollah, which has decided to join the battle under the sponsorship of the Iranian regime, and will not allow harm to Israeli citizens.”
