Minister of National Defense, Major General Michel Menassa, received a phone call from Spain's Minister of Defense Margarita Robles Fernandez, offering condolences for the army martyrs who fell as a result of the recent Israeli attacks.
During the call, Minister Fernandez reiterated Spain's support for Lebanon under the current exceptional circumstances, in conituation of its consistent and supportive stance in all situations.
The Spanish minister expressed her country's condemnation of the attacks targeting Lebanon, emphasizing Spain's support for its sovereignty, stability, and territorial integrity, and its commitment to continued cooperation and coordination between the two countries, particularly in the defense and security fields.
For his part, the Lebanese Minister of National Defense thanked his Spanish counterpart for her position and the supportive stance of her government toward Lebanon, praising Spain's role within UNIFIL and stressing "the importance of this support in strengthening Lebanon's resilience and finding solutions to the challenges and risks it faces."
