Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam received a phone call from Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, who expressed Spain’s support for Lebanon and its territorial integrity, as well as for the decisions of the Lebanese government, particularly those related to banning the military activity of Hezbollah. He also condemned the attacks against UNIFIL forces and stressed the need to carry out the necessary investigations in this regard. He added that Spain remains committed to supporting the Lebanese people and standing by them, noting that it has allocated additional humanitarian aid amounting to €9 million.
For his part, Prime Minister Salam expressed appreciation for Spain’s support on both the humanitarian and political levels, as well as its contribution to UNIFIL forces. He pointed out that Israel’s incursion into Lebanon under the pretexts of establishing a buffer zone or a security belt is entirely unacceptable, and that Israel must halt its military operations and withdraw from all Lebanese territory.
