President Joseph Aoun affirmed that “the only solution to Lebanon’s current situation is achieving a ceasefire with Israel.”

He announced that “the proposal for a ceasefire with Israel and the start of direct negotiations is beginning to receive a positive response,” noting that “international contacts are ongoing to include Lebanon in the ceasefire.”

Aoun added: “We will not return to internal conflict, and we have confidence in our military and security forces.”
