Lebanon and the eastern Mediterranean remain under the influence of a low-pressure system accompanied by cold air masses, centered south of Turkey, bringing heavy rain, snowfall, and temperatures below seasonal averages, according to the Meteorology Department of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
The system is expected to gradually weaken starting Tuesday evening as it moves eastward, with some local instability continuing on Wednesday before weather conditions stabilize progressively by midday. Temperatures are expected to rise on Thursday, with warmer air masses affecting the region from Friday, pushing temperatures above seasonal averages over the weekend.
Weather forecast for Lebanon:
Tuesday: Cloudy to partly cloudy with fog on the highlands. Temperatures remain largely unchanged. Scattered rainfall, at times heavy with thunderstorms and active winds in the morning. Snow is expected above 1,700 meters. Rain gradually weakens in the afternoon with partial clearing.
Wednesday: Partly cloudy with a slight rise in temperatures and fog on the highlands. Light scattered rain in the morning with occasional gusty winds, then gradual improvement and clearing by evening.
Thursday: Mostly clear to partly cloudy with lower humidity and a further rise in temperatures, especially in mountainous and inland areas.
Friday: Clear to partly cloudy with a noticeable rise in temperatures reaching seasonal averages, turning partly cloudy again in the evening with high-altitude clouds.
Additional conditions:
Surface winds: Southwesterly, active, 20–50 km/h
Visibility: Poor due to fog and heavy rain
Sea conditions: Rough
Sea surface temperature: 19°C
Sunrise: 05:46 am
Sunset: 07:24 pm
